The YAK 18T is a four seat retractable touring aircraft and a more than capable aerobatic performer.
This big beast was designed primarily for training and route flights (navigation), however its vertatility has seen it used as a multipurpose aircraft in many commercial and private roles such as transporter, air ambulance, aerial photography etc.

The YAK18T is now in high demand due to its classic styling combined with high payload, tough build, long range and an ability to gracefully perform aerobatic manouruvres. It represents a great compromise to a dedicated aircraft for any of these purposes.

YAK 18T Upgrades

Instruments
With the standard Russian instrument layout, there are some advantages – It has proven to be robust and reliable, however due to heavy Russian gyro instruments, as good as they are, we can now offer a range of western style avionics including moving map GPS, auto pilot suitable for your individual needs. Not only does this improve your aircrafts instrumentation it also removes approximately 40kg.

Lightweight electrical system
Like most Eastern block aircraft they are built to tough military specifications and are exceptionally heavy. We have developed a modification using a light alternator (600watts), light weight dry sealed batteries and the all up modification saving around 60kg.

Two piece windscreen
We have a new type two piece windscreen available adding approximately 8km per hour and although taking away a little character adds far greater visibility.


Leather interior
The standard interior is very robust and military style in spite of this we can improve the trim on your aircraft by re-trimming in leather and by using good quality carpets and adding a little sound deadening giving you greater comfort and more enjoyable flight.

Long range tanks
We have available a modification to the wings, which enables the aircraft to carry a total of 360 litres in the wings, giving up to seven hours endurance. This is a very worthwhile modification and gives you greater peace of mind enabling a longer flight path. We can incorporate this on your existing YAK. Please phone Paul for more details.
